PHIP

A gene on chromosome 6q14 that encodes a protein which is a putative regulator of insulin and insulin-like growth factor signalling pathways. PHIP stimulates cell proliferation by regulating cyclin transcription; its anti-apoptotic activity is via AKT1 phosphorylation and activation. PHIP plays a role in regulating cell morphology and cytoskeletal organisation.
