pseu·do·ly·sog·e·ny

(sū'dō-lī-soj'ĕ-nē), The condition in which a bacteriophage is maintained (carried) in a culture of a bacterial strain by infecting susceptible variants of the strain, in contradistinction to true lysogeny in which the bacteriophage genome multiplies as an integral part of the bacterial genome.
