Areas of interest along the Utah section of the byway include: Edge of the Cedars State Park and Museum, Four Corners Monument (where Utah, Colorado, Arizona, and New Mexico meet at a common point), Grand Gulch Primitive Area, Hovenweep and Natural Bridges national monuments, Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, and Three Kiva Pueblo.
Legth: 366 miles (Utah section); 480 miles (entire byway). Start/Endpoint: The Trail of the Ancients is a loop route inColorado and Utah that may be started at any point along its length. The Utah section of the byway is accessible from Monticello south along US 191; from County Road 414 or UT 162 at the Colorado state line; and from Highway 163 north from the Arizona state line. The loop section in Utah includes sections of US 191, and UT 95, 261, and 163. Time to Allow: 6 hours (Utah section); 9 hours including backtracking (entire byway). Designation/Year: National Scenic Byway (2005).
