Location:10 miles east of Fruitland, off Highway 61 N on Highway 177, in Cape Girardeau County.
Facilities:35 basic campsites, 10 electric campsites, 7 campsites with full hookups, showers, special use area, picnic sites,2 picnic shelters, hiking and backpacking trails, equestriantrails, beach, boat ramp, visitor center.
Activities:Camping, lake and river fishing, swimming, hiking, horseback riding, interpretive programs.
Special Features:A portion of this wilderness once was part of the route known as theTrail of Tears, a trail taken by Cherokee Indians in their forced marchto the West. (See Trail of Tears National Historic Trail entry innational trails section.)
