Name Origin: For the Presidio de San Augustin de Ahumada (Fort of Saint Augustine of Ahumada), Mission Nuestra Senora de los Dolores de los Ais (Mission of Our Lady of Sorrows of the Ais), which was established on Ayish Bayou by the Marquis de San Miguel de Ahuayo in 1721
