Susamyrtau

 

a mountain range of the Inner Tien-Shan. Situated southeast of the Talas Alatau, the Susamyrtau measures approximately 125 km in length and rises to a maximum elevation of 4,048 m. It is composed primarily of Lower Paleozoic granites and schists. The range has glaciers. The lower part, to the west, is cut deep by a ravine formed by the Chichkan River, a right tributary of the Naryn River. The landscape features alpine meadows and rocky highlands.
