Vadier, Marc Guillaume Albert
Born July 17, 1736, in Pamiers; died Dec. 14, 1828, in Brussels. Active in the Great French Revolution. A lawyer by profession. Deputy to the Constituent Assembly and the Convention.
Under the Jacobin dictatorship Vadier was a member of the Committee of Public Safety. He joined the so-called Left Thermidorians and participated in the counterrevolutionary Thermidor coup d’etat (July 27-28, 1794). Under the Directory he was imprisoned (1796-99). He did not play any political role under Napoleon I. After the restoration of the Bourbons Vadier was exiled from France in 1816.
