A gene on chromosome 21q11 that encodes a protein which downregulates B-cell activation and cell proliferation. It upregulates RAC1-dependent membrane ruffle formation and reorganisation of the actin cytoskeleton and HDAC1 activity. SAMSN1 regulates cell spreading, cell polarisation and LYN activity by modulating its tyrosine phosphorylation; it is upregulated in B cells by IL4, IL13 and by CD40, and it interacts with CTTN, FASLG, HDAC1, SAP30, SFN, YWHAB, YWHAE, YWHAG, YWHAH and YWHAZ.
