Iadamsuren, Urzhingiin

 

Born 1905 in Eastern Aimak. Mongolian painter.

Iadamsuren studied at the V. I. Surikov Moscow Art Institute during the 1930’s. He is noted for successfully combining the techniques and idioms of Mongolian painting with European methods. Iadamsuren’s paintings include The Singer of Tales (1958, Museum of Fine Arts of the Mongolian People’s Republic, Ulan Bator), The Triumphant Hero (appliqué work, 1968; painted with Urzhin), and Three Sad Hills (gouache, 1962, Museum of Fine Arts of the Mongolian People’s Republic, Ulan Bator).
