Taui Guba

 

a bay in the northern part of the Sea of Okhotsk. Taui Guba extends 75 km inland. It has an average width of 120–130 km and an average depth of 40–50 m. The shoreline, which is higher in the eastern part of the bay, is indented by inlets. Spafar’ev and Zav’ialov islands are located at the entrance to Taui Guba. The tides, which reach 5 m, are semidiurnal and irregular. The Taui, lana, Arman’, and Ola rivers empty into the bay. The city of Magadan is located on Nagaev Bay, within Taui Guba.
