Phagoprophylaxis

the prevention of bacterial infections by the internal application of specific bacteriophages. Phagoprophylaxis is now used mainly in the focal areas of such diseases as typhoid fever. Bacteriophages are used in veterinary medicine to prevent certain diseases—for example, paratyphoid infections in calves and colibacillosis in calves and young pigs.
