Tatarbunary

a city (since Apr. 27,1978) and administrative center of Tatarbunary Raion, Odessa Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Situated on the northern shore of Lake Sasyk, 24 km from the Sarata railroad station on the Odessa-Artsiz line. Population, 10,300 (1974). Tatarbunary has a wool factory; a plant producing essential oils, a branch of the Kiliia factory, is located in the settlement. Tatarbunary has a museum of local lore.
