(F1.2) (prō-throm'bin frag'mĕnt) A peptide released when prothrombin is cleaved by factor Xa. This fragment binds to phospholipid through calcium and interacts with factor Va. Elevated plasma levels of F1.2 have been described in patients with thrombosis or in prethrombotic states.
