[‚präd·ə·rō′stō·mē·ə] (zoology) That part of the animal kingdom in which cleavage of the egg is of the determinate type; includes all bilateral phyla except Echinodermata, Chaetognatha, Pogonophora, Hemichordata, and Chordata.
