afibrinogenaemia

A disorder of blood clotting due to a genetically induced absence of the fibrin precursor FIBRINOGEN in the blood. There is prolonged bleeding time as the blood is almost incapable of clotting. Bleeding can be controlled by donated fibrinogen present in CRYOPRECIPITATE.
