Pfrimmer technique
Pfrimmer technique
Massage therapyA proprietary form of deep tissue massage developed in the 1940s by a Canadian nurse, TC Pfrimmer. The Pfrimmer technique is based on the belief that musculoskeletal malfunction is caused by an interruption in the normal flow of blood and lymph due to fatigue, injury, stress and buildup of lactic acid, causing induration of muscle fibres and tissue adhesions; anecdotal reports suggest that the technique may be effective for arthritis, poor circulation, fibromyositis, headaches, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, neuralgia, occupational stress, sciatica, sports injuries and trauma.
