Pfaff, Johann Friedrich

 

Born Dec. 22, 1765, in Stuttgart; died Apr. 21, 1828, in Halle. German mathematician. Member of the Berlin Academy of Sciences (1817).

Pfaff was a professor of mathematics at the universities of Helmstedt (1788–1810) and Halle (from 1810). He was the author of studies on differential equations.
