Location:13 miles south of Route 1 in Woolwich via Route 127.
Facilities:Picnic areas, group shelter, 2 snack bars, bathhouses with showers and flush toilets (é), trails. Open year-round.
Activities:Swimming, fishing.
Special Features:Park is Maine's first saltwater beach, featuring long, wide sandbeaches and large sand dunes, which are rare in Maine. Besides servingas a recreation resource, the beaches here are essential nesting areasfor endangered least terns and piping plovers, as well as resting andfeeding areas for other shorebirds.
