saline manometer

A manometer that uses a special tube shaped like the letter U and open at both ends. The tube is partially filled with saline. Pressure is determined by connecting one end of the U tube to the system in which pressure is to be measured. The pressure is the measured distance between the fluid level in one side of the U tube and that in the other side. The pressure is reported in millimeters of saline. See also: manometer
