Established: Established on June 27, 1990. Owned and managed jointly by the National Park Service, the City of Albuquerque, and the State of New Mexico.
Location:In Albuquerque, New Mexico. Accessible from I-40 off Unser Blvd.
Facilities:Visitor center, picnic area, self-guided trails, interpretive exhibits, rest rooms (é).
Activities:Hiking.
Special Features:More than 20,000 prehistoric and historic Native American and Hispanic petroglyphs (images carved in rock) stretch 17 miles along Albuquerque's West Mesa escarpment.
