Railroad station on the Evpatoriia-Ostriakovo line. Industry is represented by a chemical plant and food-processing enterprises. Saki is a pelotherapeutic health resort 20 km from Evpatoriia. Summers are very warm, with an average July temperature of 23 °C, and winters are mild, with an average February temperature of - 1 °C. Precipitation totals 380 mm annually. Therapeutic remedies include the use of mud and saltwater from Lake Saki. A mineral spring with thermal water (45°C) and an aqueous solution of sodium bicarbonate and a chlorine ion that is used for bathing and drinking is located 7 km from Saki. Saki a drainless salt lake in Crimean Oblast, Ukrainian SSR. Located south of Lake Sasyk, 20 km from Evpatoriia, Lake Saki lies 2.1 m below sea level. It has an area of 8.1 sq km and measures 5.5 km in length. Its maximum width is 3 km, and the average depth is 0.8 m. The bottom is covered with a thick layer of silt mineral mud. Lake Saki is fed by sea and subterranean waters and by melted snow and rain.
