Sakharnaia Promyshlennost’
(Sugar Industry), a monthly scientific and technical trade journal published by the Ministry of the Food-processing Industry of the USSR and the Central Administration of the Scientific and Technical Society of the Food-processing Industry. Publication began in Moscow in May 1923. Until 1929 the journal was named Biulleten’ sakharotresta (Bulletin of the Sugar Trust); from 1929 to 1936, Sovetskii sakhar (Soviet Sugar); and from 1937 to 1940, Sakhar (Sugar). Publication was suspended between 1941 and 1945 and was resumed in 1946 under the present name. The journal deals with the technology, economy, planning, and organization of the sugar industry and, since 1958, of the starch-syrup industry. Circulation, 5,800 (1975).
