Saint Paul Island

one of the Pribilof Islands, located in the Bering Sea; part of Alaska, USA. Area, 129 sq km. Population, about 300 (1967), primarily Aleuts. The island is formed of volcanic rock and is craggy, reaching heights of up to 203 m. Saint Paul has a subarctic marine climate and meadow and tundra vegetation. It is a breeding ground for northern fur seals. The island’s chief populated point is the village of Saint Paul.
