Pesha

a river in Arkhangel’sk Oblast, RSFSR. The Pesha is 257 km long and drains an area of 5,060 sq km. It meanders over marshy tundra and empties into Chesha Bay of the Barents Sea. It is fed by snow and rain. The mean flow rate is approximately 50 cu m per sec. The Pesha freezes in November, and the ice breaks up in mid-May.
