Shakhimardan

a climatic health resort in the Uzbek SSR, 52 km from Fergana. Shakhimardan is situated at an elevation of 1,540–1,570 m. Summers are hot and dry (average July temperature, 22°C), and the winters are mild (average January temperature, –3°C); annual precipitation is approximately 350 mm. Sanatoriums treat patients suffering from tuberculosis.
