Shakhbuz

an urban-type settlement and the administrative center of Shakhbuz Raion, Nakhichevan ASSR. Shakhbuz is situated on the river Nakhichevanchai, a tributary of the Araks; it is located 30 km northeast of the Nakhichevan railroad station, on the highway linking Evlakh, Goris, and Nakhichevan. Industry is represented by a motor vehicle repair plant, a winery, and the Badamly Mineral Water Plant.
