[′prō‚pān ′bəb·əl ‚chām·bər] (nucleonics) A bubble chamber whose liquid is propane; used when it is desirable to have a dense, heavy target in experiments such as detection of neutrinos or measurements of the decay products of neutral pions, not usually visible in a hydrogen bubble chamber.
