State: North CarolinaWhat kind of proof does a person need to sue for slander? My neighbor keeps stealing my cat, and an officer said I can take her to court for misdemeanor larsony. I wrote her a letter telling her so. Would my letter to her be proof? She is denying everything, but my husband, sister, and another neighbor have seen the cat come out of her house. Is there anything I could sue her for if she takes me to court over this?
