[rē′jen·ə‚rād·əd ′sel·yə‚lōs] (materials) Rayon in which the raw cellulose is changed physically but not chemically, such as viscose, cuprammonium, and nitrocellulose rayons. A transparent cellulose plastic material made by mixing cellulose xanthate with a dilute sodium hydroxide solution to form a viscose.
