Proletarskaia Revoliutsiia

 

(Proletarian Revolution), a historical journal published in Moscow from 1921 to 1941. From 1921 to 1928 it was an organ of the Commission on Party History (Istpart) of the Central Committee of the ACP(B); from 1928 to 1931, an organ of the Central Committee’s Lenin Institute; and from 1933 to 1941, an organ of the Central Committee’s Marx-Engels-Lenin Institute. A total of 132 issues were published. Over the years, M. S. Ol’minskii, S. I. Kanatchikov, M. A. Savel’ev, V. G. Knorin, V. G. Sorin, and M. B. Mitin served as editors. The journal, which appeared irregularly, had a circulation that varied from 5,000 to 35,000.

Proletarskaia revoliutsiia published research articles; documents and memoirs dealing with the history of the labor movement, the Communist Party, the 1917 October Revolution, and 1918–20 Civil War; articles on prominent party figures and the labor and social democratic movements; critiques and bibliographies; and other materials.
