Location:West of Chicago via I-88.
Facilities:150 Class A campsites (electricity, shower building with flushtoilets), 2 cabins (no water or toilet facilities), 3 picnic areas,restrooms, horseshoe pits, concessions, trails (8 miles), fishing pier,boat rentals, boat ramp, restaurant (é).
Activities:Camping, boating (10 HP limit), canoeing, fishing, hiking, hunting, cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, sledding, ice skating, tobogganing.
Special Features:Park was named for the Potawatomi chief who briefly held a small parcelof land here 10 years after the 1832 Black Hawk War. Shabbona Lake is apilot site for disabled visitor accessibility, and all facilities,including a specially designed fishing pier, are totally accessible.
