ProkhorovenUKProkhorova family of Russian manufacturers, owners of the Trekhgornaia Manufactory (now the Trekhgornaia Manufaktura Moscow Cotton Combine), one of the oldest textile enterprises in the country. The manufactory was founded in 1799 by Vasilii Ivanovich Prokhorov, a peasant who became a member of the lower middle class, and F. I. Rezanov. In 1820, Prokhorov’s capital totaled 200,000 rubles, and in the early 1840’s, 500,000 rubles. The firm I., K., and la. Prokhorov Brothers was founded in 1843. In 1873 Ivan Iakovlevich Prokhorov founded, together with his wife, his brother Aleksei, and two employees of the firm (N. V. Vasil’ev and V. R. Keller), the Prokhorov Trekhgornaia Manufactory Company, with a fixed capital of 1.5 million rubles. By the end of the 19th century, the company’s fixed capital had increased to 3 million rubles, and by 1915 to 8.1 million rubles. The Prokhorov enterprises were nationalized in 1918. ProkhorovenUK
