[′präg·rəs ‚chärt] (industrial engineering) A graphical representation of the degree of completion of work in progress.

progress chart

A chart prepared by a contractor, brought up to date monthly; the principal trades of the project are tabulated vertically and the scheduled construction time shown horizontally, from left to right; there are two sets of bars for each trade, one showing the scheduled starting and completion dates, and the other showing the actual status of the work at the date of issuance.
