Wanxian, Wanhsien, Wan-Hsien an inland port in central China, in E Sichuan province, on the Yangtze River. Pop.: 1 963 000 (2005 est.) Wanhsien a city in China on the left bank of the Yangtze River in Szechwan Province. Population, 111,000 (1959). A highway connects Wanhsien with Chengtu. The city has paper, chemical, and leather industries and also produces tung oil. There is a hydroelectric power station nearby on the Jangtuho River. |
