State Council of the People's Republic of China

The highest administrative body in mainland China. The State Council directly oversees provincial governments and several government agencies. It indirectly supervises most other agencies through government departments. The State Council consists of the premier and the head of every department. In practice, the members of the State Council are also the senior leadership of the Communist Party of China.
