(pal’stab,) a bronze flanged ax, widespread in Western Europe during the Bronze Age. The poll is extended and wrapped around the handle. The part of the wooden, elbow-shaped handle that is secured between the extended edges is perpendicular to the cutting edge, while the grip is parallel to the cutting edge.
