STAT2
STAT2 A gene on chromosome 12q13.3 that encodes a member of the STAT family of transcription factors, which are phosphorylated by receptor-associated kinases in response to cytokines and growth factors. The STAT2 protein product responds to interferon by forming a complex with STAT1 and IFN regulatory factor family protein p48 (SGF3G), acting as a transactivator without directly binding DNA directly. Transcription adaptor P300/CBP (EP300/CREBBP) interacts with STAT2, which is thought to play a role in blocking IFN-alpha response by adenovirus.STAT2
