V.24
V.24 (standard)The ITU-T standard defining interchangecircuits between DTE and DCE. V.24 is the ITU-Tequivalent of EIA standard EIA-232C, though V.24 onlyspecifies the meaning of the signals, not the connector or thevoltages used.
V.24 recommends 12 modem carrier frequencies that will notinterfere with Dual Tone Multi-Frequency or other telephonecontrol tones. These are:
GROUP A = 920 Hz, 1000 Hz, 1080 Hz, 1160 HzGROUP B = 1320 Hz, 1400 Hz, 1480 Hz, 1560 HzGroup C = 1720 Hz, 1800 Hz, 1880 Hz, 1960 HzV.24An ITU standard (1964) that defines the functions of all circuits for the RS-232 interface. It does not describe the connectors or pin assignments; those are defined in ISO 2110. In the U.S., EIA-232 incorporates the control signal definition of V.24, the electrical characteristics of V.28 and the connector and pin assignments defined in ISO 2110. See RS-232.V.24
