V1
V1The speed from which a decision to continue the takeoff, following the pilot's recognition failure of the critical engine results in a takeoff distance to a height of 35 ft at V2; (takeoff safety speed). It will not exceed the usable takeoff distance or the speed at which the first action is taken to bring the airplane to a full stop that will not exceed the accelerate-stop distance available. V1 is dependent on aircraft weight, airport altitude, and ambient temperature. V1 must not be less than the minimum speed for control on the ground (VMCG), greater than the rotation speed (VR), or greater than the maximum brake energy speed (VMBE). Also called the takeoff decision speed. See also VMCG and VMBE.V1
