[TA] numerous (8-10) veins that drain the convexity of the cortical hemisphere and empty into the superior sagittal sinus, curving rostrally in passing through the dura arachnoid interface so as to enter the sinus at an acute forward angle; can be divided into five general groups based on the area of cortex served: prefrontal veins [TA], frontal veins [TA] (venae frontales [TA]), parietal veins [TA], temporal veins [TA] (venae temporales [TA]), and occipital veins [TA] (venae occipitales [TA]).
