Beaver Dam State Park
Location:West central Illinois, in Macoupin County, 7 miles south of Carlinville.
Facilities:Class A trailer camping area with electricity at each pad and a showerbuilding with flush toilets, a separate tent camping area with nearbyrestrooms and water, group camping area, rental cabin, picnic area,playground, 4 pavilions, concession stand, boat rentals, boat ramp anddocks, 59-acre stocked lake, hiking trails (8 miles), archery range.
Activities:Camping, boating (electric motors only), fishing, hiking, archery(broadhead points prohibited), cross-country skiing, sledding, iceskating, ice fishing.
Special Features:Although the beaver is virtually gone from this area, the park was named for beaver dams which formed the lake more than a century ago.

Location:34 miles east of Caliente, near the Utah border; go 6 miles north ofCaliente on US 93, then 28 miles east on a graded gravel road.
Facilities:33 campsites, group camping area, chemical toilets, picnic areas (at campsites), interpretive trail.
Activities:Camping, fishing (only with artificial lures with single barbless hooks), hiking, nature study.
Special Features:Eastern Nevada's most remote and primitive park features deep canyons,pinyon and juniper forests, a stream, and numerous beaver dams. Park is openyear round, weather permitting, but travel is not advised during wintermonths.
