[′stär ¦net‚wərk] (communications) A communications network in which all communications between any two points must pass through a central node. Also known as centralized configuration. (electricity) A set of three or more branches with one terminal of each connected at a common node to give the form of a star. Also known as star connection.

star network

(networking)A network topology where every node has adirect connection (only) to the central node, which might be ahub, switch, or server.
