one of the largest newspaper monopolies in Great Britain. Beaverbrook Newspapers Ltd. was created in the 1910’s and 1920’s by Lord Beaverbrook. After Lord Beaverbrook’s death (1964) it was directed by his son, M. Aitken. Both directly and through companies that it controlled, Beaverbrook Newspapers Ltd. published the newspapers Daily Express, Sunday Express, Evening Standard, and Evening Citizen. The total circulation of Beaverbrook’s newspapers was approximately 9 million copies (1970). The newspapers printed by Beaverbrook Newspapers Ltd. support the Conservative Party.
