Uzboi Kelifskii

 

a system of solonchak basins in the southeastern part of the Karakum, mainly in the Turkmen SSR. Extending in a straight line in a northwesterly direction from the city of Aq Chah in Afghanistan, the Uzboi Kelifskii has a total length of 240 km and widths that range from 400 m to 1.5 km. It is the dried up riverbed of the lower course of the Balkh River in Afghanistan. Approximately a 70-km stretch of the Karakum Canal passes through the Uzboi Kelifskii.
