Fringe pharmacologyA proprietary immunostimulant formulated by RE Lincoln, MD, which consists of the supernatant of Staphylococcus aureus that has been lysed by bacteriophages. Staphage Lysate evokes the production of interferons by activating macrophages; the lysate has no known effect in treating respiratory and sinus infections or cancer. While Staphage Lysate is an FDA-approved veterinary product, it is not approved for use in humans.
