释义 | Tiliaceae
TiliaceaeTiliaceae(linden or basswood family), a family of dicotyledonous plants, including trees and shrubs and, less commonly, subshrubs and herbs. The leaves are usually alternate, simple, with deciduous stipules. The flowers are regular and almost always bisexual. In most species there are numerous stamens, which are either free or attached to each other at the base and are frequently gathered in fascicles of five to ten. The gynoecium has two or more carpels, and the ovary is usually superior. The fruits are of various types. There are approximately 45 genera, comprising more than 400 species, distributed primarily in the tropics and subtropics. In the USSR only plants of the genus Tilia grow wild; species of the genus Corchorus and sometimes shrubs of the genus Grewia are cultivated there. REFERENCEHutchinson, J.
