super broccoli

super broccoli

A proprietary cruciferous vegetable developed at the Institute of Food Research (IFR) and John Innes Centre, both based in Norwich, UK, by cross-breeding a wild variety of broccoli discovered in 1983, which has high concentrations of glucoraphanin. Glucoraphonin is converted in the GI tract into sulphoraphane, achieving serum levels that are up to 4 times those seen with garden variety broccoli. Sulphoraphane reduces chronic inflammation, inhibits mitosis associated with early cancer, and shores up antioxidants.
