process biology
process biology
(1) The process by which the life activities of bacteria and other microorganisms in the search for food break down complex organic material into simple, more stable substances.(2) A modular system which is meant to reduce the plethora of potential molecular (read, therapeutic) targets of differentially expressed genes. In process biology, each stage of the research process is broken down into a component. Each module can be run as a standalone analysis step, as well as link to upstream and downstream processes via shared data resources. Process biology provides an integrated approach to lab and bioinformatics technologies to maximise productivity and optimise information flow.
