Asterolepis
Asterolepis a genus of extinct placoderms from the subclass Antiarcha. During the Devonian Age the fish were found in Europe (Scotland, Spitsbergen, Greenland, and the European USSR), America (eastern United States), and Asia (China). Asterolepis is the index fossil for freshwater delta deposits that are devoid of marine invertebrate remains. The best finds in the USSR are in the Baltic. |
