Stanke Dimitrov

a city in southwestern Bulgaria, in Kiustendil District; located at the foot of the Rila Mountains, on the Dzherman River. Population, 45,000 (1975). Stanke Dimitrov is a tobacco-processing center. The city has pharmaceutical, instrumentation, fruit-canning, and clothing industries. Located nearby are coal mines and the Bobov-Dol Thermoelectric Power Plant.
